St Wenn School Seahorses
Welcome to Seahorses class page. Seahorses class is made up of Reception and Preschool, where pupils and staff work alongside and collaboratively together to meet the requirements set out in the revised EYFS Framework. We offer a varied curriculum tailored to suit children's personal needs and interests. We use the online electronic Learning Journal 'Tapestry' to capture the childrens learning and 'WOW' moments, which allows parents to easily engage with their childs learning day to day.
Seahorse staff are Miss Bartlett (Class teacher), Miss Wheeler (Class teacher), Mrs Mackay (Preschool Lead), Mrs Bond (Teaching Assistant) and Mrs Stevens (Teaching Assistant).
During the summer term Seahorse Class have been engaging in the same learning both at home and school. We have continued with our phonics, looking closely at new sounds and most recently have been learning to break words down into syllables with the help of Miss Bartlett's phonics videos.
Our learning journey this term has allowed us to investigate sharing, doubling and halving in maths, we have explored the outdoors with the changes in the seasons, investigated materials, junk modelled, looked closely at healthy eating and made some delicious food in our homes and celebrated our differences and what makes us special and unique.
In Seahorse Class we foster a love of reading, last term all the children thoroughly enjoyed celebrating World Book Day, showing off their costumes, sharing their books with each other and listening to stories read by both the teachers and children from Pelican Class. To encourage and continue this love of reading and stories we have looked at a variety of stories in our home learning and Miss Bartlett has continued to read us stories over video twice a week for us to watch.
