Sports Premium
The funding, jointly provided by the Departments for Education, Health, and Culture, Media and Sport, is allocated directly to primary school headteachers. It is ring-fenced, meaning it must be used exclusively for PE, sports, and promoting healthy lifestyles in schools.

The Department for Education (DfE) has confirmed that schools will continue to receive the PE and Sport Premium in 2024/25, supported by over £300 million in funding.

This funding is intended to help children lead active lives, giving more pupils access to high-quality PE lessons and a range of sporting opportunities.
The children at St Wenn have a great sporting experience. They all seem to love their sporting opportunities and are very lucky to have a great array of lessons and clubs including football with Plymouth Argyle, Basketball, Netball, Tennis, Swimming, Yoga, Hockey, Gymnastics, Streetdance, Cricket and running club.
We also invite the Cornish Pirates in for coaching and take part in the rugby festival each year.
In addition, we host an annual St Wenn cross country run, inviting other schools along, and attend Brannel school for a variety of sporting events throughout the year.
Many children take their sporting achievements beyond the school and we are always pleased to hear of any more ideas that they are interested in and to celebrate their successes.

Please read our report below to find out how the money was spent in 2023/2024.
